Boba Bash

Project Overview

"Boba Bash" is a casual Boba-Tea-themed game featuring a cute and lively art style, charming characters known as "Bobari," and numerous Taiwanese-themed scenes. It includes a rich collection system where you can get knowledge about boba tea and uncover secrets of the Bobari Piggys. With simple one-hand controls, you prepare delicious boba tea to fulfill orders within a time limit, satisfying customers and collecting their "hygge"!

​Our game has received positive feedback from players at multiple Taipei Game Shows. In 2021, it was selected for the "Independent Game Development Incentive Program" by the Industrial Development Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs. Additionally, in 2023, it was honored with an indie game award from Google Play.

My Role

We are a small indie game team, which allows me to be deeply involved in every aspect of game development, not just the art part. From the initial concept to continuous trial and error, refining the gameplay until we find an innovative gameplay that satisfies our team.

As the Art Director, in the art department, I engage in intensive discussions and tests with programmers early on to determine the most suitable production process under the premise of meeting gameplay rules. Based on the atmosphere we want to convey to players and considering the capabilities of our team, we discuss and define the art style, establish production standards, create 2D and 3D content, and make adjustments and modifications according to gameplay or performance constraints. I also work closely with the planning team to discuss and test UI/UX, ensuring that I have a hand in almost every stage.
